Strongly Screened Vortex Lattice Model with Disorder

چکیده
The three dimensional XY model with quenched random disorder is studied in the strong screening limit, λ→ 0, by defect energy scaling at zero temperature. In zero external field we find that there exists a true superconducting phase with a stiffness exponent θ ' +1.0 for weak disorder. For low magnetic field and weak disorder, we identify an ordered Bragg glass phase which is superconducting. For larger disorder or applied field, there is a non superconducting phase with θ ' −1.0. We estimate the critical external field whose value is consistent with experiment.

Effect of columnar disorder on the superconducting transition of a type-II superconductor in zero applied magnetic field
We investigate the effect of random columnar disorder on the superconducting phase transition of a type-II superconductor in zero applied magnetic field using numerical simulations of three dimensional XY and vortex loop models. We consider both an unscreened model, in which the bare magnetic penetration length is approximated as infinite, and a strongly screened model, in which the magnetic pe...
متن کاملEvaluation of 2-D Aeroelastic Models Based on Indicial Aerodynamic Theory and Vortex Lattice Method in Flutter and Gust Response Determination
Two 2-D aeroelastic models are presented here to determine instability boundary (flutter speed) and gust response of a typical section airfoil with degrees of freedom in pitch and plunge directions. To build these 2-D aeroelastic models, two different aerodynamic theories including Indicial Aerodynamic Theory and Vortex Lattice Method (VLM) have been employed. Also, a 3-D aeroelastic framework ...
متن کاملSuperconductor-to-normal phase transition in a vortex glass model: numerical evidence for a new percolation universality class
The three-dimensional strongly screened vortex glass model is studied numerically using methods from combinatorial optimization. We focus on the effect of disorder strength on the ground state and find the existence of a disorder-driven normal-to-superconducting phase transition. The transition turns out to be a geometrical phase transition with percolating vortex loops in the ground state conf...
متن کاملVortex liquids and vortex quantum Hall states in trapped rotating Bose gases
We discuss the feasibility of quantum Hall states of vortices in trapped low-density two-dimensional Bose gases with large particle interactions. For interaction strengths larger than a critical dimensionless 2D coupling constant gc ≈ 0.6, upon increasing the rotation frequency, the system is shown to spatially separate into vortex lattice and melted vortex lattice (vortex liquid) phases. At a ...
متن کاملVortex lattice melting theories as example of science fiction.
Vortex lattice melting theories as example of science fiction. Abstract It is shown that the popular conception of the vortex lattice melting have appeared in consequence of a incorrect notion about the Abrikosov state and incorrect definition of the phase coherence. The famous Abrikosov solution gives qualitatively incorrect result. The transition into the Abrikosov state must be first order i...
